Songkhla UNESCO Creative City Initiative, by Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization, organized creative activities to publicize and encourage participation in promoting Songkhla Province as a UNESCO Creative City, at Songkhla Walking Street, 28th June (15:00-20:00).
These activities aimed to create awareness and facilitate participation by Songkhla residents through utilization of public spaces to host creative activities, for which the Working Group presented an Active Exhibition with content expressing five important questions:
(1) Which sources, resources, methods, wisdom and knowledge are outstanding according to the UNESCO Creative City framework?
(2) Where are these resources located? Who owns and maintains them? Who supports them? What are the channels of contact?
(3) What are the risks and challenges of maintaining and developing such resources?
(4) Who should be involved in formulation of proposals for developing creative resources?
(5) Do you have any further suggestions regarding methods and guidelines for promoting Songkhla as a UNESCO Creative City?
For the Five Questions Exhibition, the Working Group distributed post-it leaflets to Songkhla residents along the Walking Street Market to answer questions and help in completing information according to their personal perception, sense of priorities, and suggestions regarding creative sources and resources. This activity was very well received and had a large number of participants.
To follow up, the Working Group will summarize responses and integrate them into the process of planning and guidelines to promote Songkhla as a Creative City.
